Description

This module will introduce methods of research in early childhood education both to provide a critical awareness of the range and methods in the field of early education research and in preparation for the dissertation. Specific research methods will include: observation; interviewing; questionnaires; assessment and testing; research design; case studies; surveys; longitudinal studies; experimental and quasi-experimental designs; statistics; qualitative research; ethnography; evaluation; ethics; research writing. Problems in relating research to policy and practice will be explored.
